Casualty viewers left baffled as they spot Emmerdale's Chrissie White on BBC drama

Casualty viewers received a pleasant surprise on Saturday night after they spotted Emmerdale’s Chrissie White on the show.

Actress Louise Marwood who previously played a businesswoman in the Dales left BBC viewers stunned after they saw her crop up in the hit medical drama.

Playing the role of a mother with two children who “accidentally” drugged her son which landed him in hospital, fans were clearly shocked by the stark contrast in roles.

Taking to Twitter, viewers aired their thoughts.

One person penned: “Amusing me to see Chrissie from Emmerdale in tonight’s ep.”

Another baffled fan asked: “Is that Chrissie from Emmerdale?!”

Meanwhile, another fan joked: “Chrissie White auditioning for Eastenders.”

Chrisse was the mother of Lachlan White as well as the ex-wife of Robert Sugden in Emmerdale.

She was also believed to be the daughter of Lawrence White until 2016, but it came to light that he wasn’t her biological father.

Chrissie’s first appearance on the long-running ITV soap was in 2014 and she was involved in plenty of hard-hitting storylines including her son Lachlan’s sexual assault on Alicia.

In 2018, Chrissie’s life unfortunately came to an end when she died in a fatal car crash alongside her son.

Speaking about her exit from the soap at the time, actress Louise revealed she felt gutted that she had to leave.

Talking to Digital Spy she said: “I am very sad actually, because we have become really close.

“Myself, Ryan Hawley (Robert), Tom Atkinson (Lachlan) and John Bowe (Lawrence) all came into the show at the same time. And it feels like Emily Head (Rebecca) has been here all the time too, as we’ve become so close.

“Obviously we’ll stay friends forever, but I’m not going to see them everyday, so that will take a while to sink in.”

The star explained that she did want to stay however her “life is in London”.

While appearing on Casualty Louise’s character had a rather difficult time explaining to her daughter that she didn’t deliberately drug her son.

However, her daughter reminded her that she had a history of drug abuse and it was very likely that she did. In a fit of rage, the young lady decided to abandon her mother.
