The Repair Shop's Will Kirk to become dad as BBC star's wife expecting first child

The Repair Shop star Will Kirk is set to become a dad as his wife Polly is pregnant with the couple’s first child.

The BBC regular made the exciting announcement on Instagram, sharing with his followers that they were “extending” the family.

In a sweet post, he wrote: “A new mug to add to my collection this summer. We are so excited for our new little arrival and to extend our family.”

The post showed Will, 36, smiling as he held up a blue mug which had the word “papa” etched into it.

He was immediately inundated with well wishes from famous friends and fans alike, with Rav Wilding commenting: “Aw lovely news.”

Another wrote: “This is wonderful news, huge congratulations to you both!”

And a third added: “Could not be more excited for you guys!”

Furniture restorer will became a familiar face on screens when he joined BBC’s The Repair Shop – but he was no stranger to television before then.

Back in 2013 he appeared on the Channel 4 show The French Collection, and on BBC show What To Buy and Why.

But his big on-screen break didn’t come until The Repair Shop landed in 2017.

Since then, he’s joined the line-up of Morning Live as a DIY expert, and has had stints on Strike It Lucky and Celebrity MasterChef.

Will and wife Polly Snowdon, who is a psychologist, got married last year in August.

The happy couple had been due to tie the knot a year previously but were forced to cancel their first set of plans because of the Covid pandemic.

Will shared a series of photos from his big day, showing him in a chic navy blue suit and his gorgeous wife Polly in an elegant white dress.

He said: “The best day of my life. Thank you to all who attended and to those that helped to make it happen.”

Will had some of his co-stars at the wedding too and shared a smiling image of them.

Next to a photo of him with his TV pals including Jay, Brenton West and Kirsten Ramsay, he wrote: “I was lucky enough to have some of the Repair Shop family there to celebrate my wedding day. Aren’t they a smart bunch.”
