Corrie killer Mikey North has become a heartthrob for grannies.
The actor, 35, plays Gary Windass who has bumped off two characters on the soap – Rana Habeeb and Rick Neelan – and got away with it.
So he was stunned to learn he’s become a pin-up for OAPs.
Mikey said: “Samia (Longchambon) always takes the mickey out of me.
“She says it’s ladies of a certain age.
“I think it’s Kel (Allen) that plays Laura, she says that she’s got an 85-year-old she knows and Gary is her favourite character. All she wants is a signed picture of Gary.

“I think she’s in hospital at the moment. She wants a signed picture of Gary by her bedside. She’s 85, so there you go.”
The star, who has been in Corrie for 14 years, also claims he is growing tired of being a soap villain.
Fans are set to see a different and lighter side to Gary soon and he claims he would love to do more comedy.

He added: “When I was younger, in these interviews, all I said was ‘I just want to be the bad guy. I love being the bad guy and getting into fights and all of that’.
“But maybe it’s me getting a little bit older. It’s all good doing that, but playing the nicer, happy, Jack the Lad, there’s a bit of comedy in there and I’ve definitely started to enjoy that more as I’ve got older.

“The stuff that we’ve been shooting now and is coming up soon, it’s been nice to have some lighter scenes and play a little bit of the lighter stuff with people like Tim and Sally.
“The killing has almost been forgotten about. We know that he’s got that streak in him where he’s got a short temper and he does some stupid things.
“But underneath it all, there is a nice guy in there somewhere. It’s just how he controls that anger at times. I like the best of both worlds – getting to do bits of both.”
