BBC Breakfast's Dan Walker asked 'what about Louise?' as fan claims she was 'snubbed'

BBC Breakfast star Dan Walker left one fan upset when he failed to mention his old co-star Louise Minchin in a chat about BBC hosts on Twitter.

The disgruntled social media user asked Dan: “What about Louise Minchin?” before telling the former Strictly star they ‘hadn’t forgotten’ about her.

Dan had thanked another fan for saying him and his current co-host Sally Nugent was the “best presenter combination” on the hit morning show, which they present Monday to Wednesday from 6am.

The viewer wrote: “There’s no doubt in my mind, @mrdanwalker and @sallynugent are the best presenter combination on @BBCBreakfast in a long time.”

Dan was grateful for the compliment and thanked the fan on the social media platform, writing: “Thanks for watching Matt.”

However, one user replied: “Hey what about @louiseminchin? I haven’t forgotten about her @mrdanwalker”

Other fans were quick to point out Dan’s former colleague Louise in response to the viewer’s original tweet about Dan and Sally.

One commented: “What about the lovely Louise Minchin? I thought she was ace!”

A second said: “I think they are great but @louiseminchin was excellent.”

A third commented: “They are equally as awesome as @mrdanwalker and @louiseminchin were.

“They chose a fabulous person to replace Louise in @sallynugent, the only fitting person for the job, love her!”

Dan’s good pal Louise left BBC Breakfast after almost 20 years on the red sofa – having first presented the BBC one show in 2001.

She admitted she stayed on the show “much longer” than she was meant to as she loved working with Dan so much.

On her last show in September, she told Dan: “Because of you I’ve stayed much longer than I was meant to,” she said. “I mean, really longer.”

Praising Louise, Dan said: “I get to see you every single morning and I know how good you are at your job.

“I haven’t been looking forward to this day as I’ve told you. From the minute I started with you on this amazing programme we got on and as I said earlier, it’s hard to find someone who makes everything so comfortable.

“You are that person.”

Minchin went on to star on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity last year, and she also works on a number of podcasts.
