Piers Morgan tipped for Strictly as rumoured line-up predicts slew of big names

Strictly Come Dancing could see fiery TV personality Piers Morgan in the line-up, according to the bookies.

Former Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan is 20/1 odds to be a Strictly star, having also been linked to I’m A Celebrity last year.

Piers has garnered a slew of headlines over the last 12 months after he dramatically walked off set live on air over a row about Meghan Markle.

He is set to return to screens in his own current affairs show and the bookies believe he is likely to be poached by the BBC for the popular dancing show.

Other names bandied around for the 2022 series of Strictly include Little Mix star Jade Thirlwall who plans on taking a break at the end of the upcoming Little Mix tour.

The South Shields singer has already appeared on two seasons of BBC’s Drag Race UK and William Hill have her at 12/1 to add Strictly Come Dancing to her CV.

ITV presenter Lorraine Kelly is also a hot favourite with odds of 6/1.

The Scottish presenter often jokes about doing the show when she interviews Strictly stars on her ITV programme.

The hottest tip to be a Strictly star this autumn is famous football referee Mike Dean, following the announcement that he will retire from the game at the end of the current season.

Mike is on odds of 4/1 with William Hill.

William Hill spokesperson, Tony Kenny, said: “Mike Dean has been a mainstay of the Premier League for over two decades but after he announced he was hanging up his whistle for good, we think he’ll be inundated with offers in other fields of work.

“The word is he used to do a bit of Ballroom dancing and so looks tailor made for an appearance on Strictly Come Dancing at 4/1, while he also looks a solid contender to head Down Under for a stint on I’m A Celeb at 8/1.”

Other names circulating for the 2022 series of Strictly include Scarlett Moffatt, fellow former Goggleboxer Tom Malone Jr and Louis Theroux.

It comes as Gordon Ramsay ruled out following in daughter Tilly’s footsteps. Tilly was on the series last year, paired up with Nikita Kuzmin.

The speculation comes just three months since the 2021 champs were crowned, with Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice walking away with the Glitterball trophy at the end of last year’s BBC One competition.
