Michelle Keegan’s husband Mark Wright says he turned down a ‘huge job’ in America to stay in England with the former Coronation Street actress.
The TV presenter has been married to Brassic star Michelle since 2015 and revealed he turned down the chance to host a new dating programme in the states so that he could stay at home with the actress in their £1.3million mansion.
Although he said he was devastated not to take part in the TV programme, he does not have any regrets about leaving Los Angeles, where he was based between 2017-2010 while he presented US entertainment programme Extra.
He told The Sun: “I was actually meant to host a really big dating show out there a few months ago but I couldn’t do it because I had to be in a bubble for three months and I wouldn’t have been able to leave so I had to say no.
“When I was out there I saw it on tv and it looked really good, so I was devastated, but I don’t regret leaving LA.”
“Michelle and I love being at home in England,” added Mark.
“England is so amazing and you don’t realise until you do something like I did how incredible it is. I would never be able to live away again.
“I would certainly go back there for a period of time to do a job, but not full time. I don’t like missing my friends and family.”
Mark also revealed that despite rumours that the couple were going to relocate to Los Angeles following a recent romantic break to the city, they currently have no plans to move.
He revealed that the couple are enjoying living with Carol Wright at her Essex home.
Despite being in his 30s, Mark claims he never thought he’d return to his family home but admits the bond he has with his parents is “special”.
The reality star says sitting down with his mum and dad every evening and sharing a coffee with them in the morning is a “special time”.
