Kelvin Fletcher has said he was in “disbelief” after he and his wife Liz Marsland discovered they were expecting twin boys.
The former Emmerdale star already has two kids with his wife Liz – five-year-old daughter Marnie and three-year-old son Milo.
But they are gearing up to welcome two new additions, with Kelvin saying it was the “best day of [his] life” when they learned they were having twin boys.
The Strictly Come Dancing champ said: “We’ve already got the best of both worlds with Marnie and Milo, so I didn’t mind either way, but finding out we’re having sons is amazing.”
He added to Hello! magazine: “It was the best day of my life. It was a moment of complete disbelief. I’ve never felt joy like it.”
Liz is due to give birth in May.
She said she felt “every single emotion under the sun” after they found out the news.
The expectant mother said: “First, there’s double the worry. I thought about things like breastfeeding, how is that possible with two? How do you pick up two babies at the same time?
“I felt all of this in the space of 30 seconds. Kelvin was saying it’s a miracle, and I was thinking “How are we going to do this?”
“But now we can’t imagine it any other way. We feel so lucky.”
Kelvin and Liz have been married since 2015.
They shared their latest pregnancy news in December, but it wasn’t until a month later than they revealed they were having twins.
Kelvin joked on BBC Breakfast when speaking to Sally Nugent and Dan Walker that they “don’t really do things by halves”.
The actor returned to screens recently with a new venture – Kelvin’s Big Farming Adventure.
The six-part series followed the family as they started a new life on a farm by the Peak District National Park.
But he will be back to his acting roots when he stars in the Richard Bean comedy Jack Absolute Flies Again in July.
Rehearsals are set to start just weeks after Liz is due to give birth, meaning a very busy time for Kelvin.
