Corrie's Antony Cotton hits out at 'dangerous' Dancing on Ice after agonising ITV stint

Coronation Street star Antony Cotton has shared his thoughts on the new series of Dancing On ice and the ins and outs of his 2018 experience.

Antony, who plays Sean in the ITV soap, exclusively told the Daily Star that he would never go back onto the show full-time if offered as it is “too dangerous”.

When talking about the worst part of the competition, he said it was definitely the fear of danger, with so many accidents happening every series.

“It’s dangerous it is really really dangerous, I hurt my ribs and was in agony the whole entire time. But the beauty of it is that I met my dance partner Brandy who is from California. That was the most beautiful part of it for me. We’re still very good friends and still in touch. We will remain friends forever but I don’t miss the sore ankles.”

However, would Antony ever go back on the ice for an all-stars series? Definitely not, he says.

He said: “No, absolutely not, I’ve been back and done something on the so every year this year I went back and did a dance with Sally. So each year I’ve done something and I’m hoping I continue to do so but no, no, no, I’m not going through that again.

“It is dangerous, people get hurt, I’ve done it once and I watch it and I still can’t believe actually did it because it’s terrifying.”

The judging panel was shaken up this year with the addition of former Strictly star Oti Mabuse joining the lineup, which Antony thought was a smart move after John Barrowman was axed from the show after being accused of inappropriate behaviour during his time on the Doctor Who set.

The ITV star continued: “I think Oti is a good addition and it seems a lot brighter these days. I think the judging panel is just about right now, I love Oti.”

Dancing on Ice returns next year on ITV.
