The Chase presenter Bradley Walsh left fans baffled with his remarks to one of his players on the ITV show.
The hit quiz show returned on Monday (March 28), and it saw Dick, Louis, Sophie and Penelope try their luck against genius quizzer Paul Sinha.
The show’s format involves the players answering questions of general knowledge in a bid to outrun the show’s Chasers and bag a hefty cash prize to take home.
However, the viewers at home were left distracted after seeing Bradley console one of his players after a low-scoring cash-builder round.
Dick was up fist, but he had only managed to bank £3,000 after struggling on a number of modern culture questions.
Bradley was quick to step in to tell Dick he was ‘a better player than that’, but many fans weren’t convinced by his analysis.
He told the player: “Undone by some modern culture questions there, Dick. Three grand. I think you’re a better player than that.”
Dick replied: “Thank you.”
In fact, some of them wanted the lovable host to stop using the phrase altogether.
One wrote: “This man needs to stop saying “you’re better than that”, cause clearly some of them really ain’t”
A second said: “Why does Bradley say ‘You’re a better player than that’”
A third commented: “Always a better player says Bradley #thechase”
A fourth agreed: “Does Bradley know something we don’t. You’re a better player….is he though”
A fifth claimed: “Brad’s on a bonus for saying you are much better than that..”

Later on in the show, Dick and his teammates Penelope and Sophie made it to the Final Chase – but Louis was sadly caught out.
Dick made it back with £3k, Sophie banked an impressive sum of £8k and Penelope secured £6k for the final round.
However, Paul Sinha was too good for the team and caught them all with 17 seconds remaining on the clock.
Bradley started presenting The Chase back in 2009, which means he’s presented the show for over a decade.
He also hosts celebrity editions of The Chase as well as Beat the Chasers, a spin-off edition of the show.
