Kate Lawler has announced she has quite her presenting role at Virgin Radio to focus on being a mother to her beautiful daughter and work on her mental health.
After six years working with the popular radio station, the 41-year-old has made the painful decision to leave just days after she was rushed to hospital with a mysterious illness.
The Big Brother star took to Instagram to share her announcement with her loyal legion of fans after she confirmed that this was her last week on the air.
In a lengthy post on the social media platform, she expressed how much she has loved working at the station but confessed the demands of being a loving mum to her child has been too much to juggle work and family.
The Drivetime presenter wrote: “It’s not been an easy decision for me to make and I know that I’ll return to radio broadcasting in the future but right now, it’s tome to take a break.
“Thank you to the bosses of Virgin Radio for being incredibly understanding and supportive of my decision and for holding the door open when the time is right to come back.”
She added: “I’ve loved working here over the past six years and I’m so grateful they wanted to make returning to work for me as easy as possible and allowed me to work flexibly, three days a week.
“I really tried to make it work while juggling lots of other projects and being a Mother, however right now, it’s no longer possible to continue the way I have been.”
It comes after the starlet documented a “strange day” that ended up in the presenter making a mad dash to hospital.
While she reassured her 418,000 followers that she felt much better after she had been treated, Kate hinted that she had recently made some big life changing decisions.
The star teased that her recent choices had already improved her life both mentally and physically, as she went on to described her medical dash as a wake-up call.
She explained: “It’s easy to forget to look after yourself when you’re juggling so much.”
And at the start of the week, Kate confessed that since she returned to work she has been trying to manage too much while being a loving mother to her daughter Noa.
She continued: “I want to be more present as a Mum, to spend as much time with my daughter before she starts nursery, then school, and to enjoy quality time together.
“I never did enough of this during maternity leave because of mental health issues and taking on too much other work outside of radio.”
The reality star was soon flooded with support from her celebrity friends including Lisa Snowdon and Giovanna Fletcher who both left love hearts in her comments section.
