EastEnders fans rumble Gray's plan to dodge jail after pleading guilty to murder

EastEnders viewers think they have foiled Gray Atkins’ attempts to dodge jail time after they found out he had decided to plead guilty.

So far, Albert Square’s villain at large has killed his first wife Chantelle, Tina Carter and Kush Kazemi, but was recently taken down for murder.

After a recent episode, fans were amazed to find out that Atkins intended to confess to his crimes.

Many think they have rumbled his cunning plan, which could result in a lesser sentence.

Gray’s second wife Chelsea told long-running resident Whitney Dean about his decision: “Except it means there’s no need for a trial.”

Whitney was shocked to hear that they “don’t get to go to court and look him in the eye,” as were fans who took to Twitter to share their thoughts.

Many believe that Gray has admitted to the brutal murders for a shot at a lighter sentence: “Gray knows how the system is played, as a former lawyer. Pleading guilty means less time in prison and no trial.”

Viewers were particularly annoyed and one spoke directly to Whitney and said that she could “still watch him get sentenced”.

One fan said: “Gray is only pleading guilty so he can get a lighter sentence. He knows what he’s doing.”

More disappointed fans joined the conversation, with one tweeting that they “don’t think Gray would be the kind of person” to plead guilty, while another said it was a “shame” viewers won’t get an “explosive court scene”.

Gray’s wife Chelsea is planning to put their child up for adoption in a bid to keep him out of harm’s way.

Gray has previously tried to kidnap Jordan and his other children, Mack and Mia, before attempting to take them away from the square for good.

He has also abused Chelsea throughout their marriage and tried to strangle her after he caught her recording his damning confession.

She made the decision in previous episodes and told Whitney about her plans, but she’ll soon receive a letter from Gray which informs her that he refuses to pay the mortgage and will leave her in a sticky financial situation.
