The X Factor: Celebrity stars Max and Harvey revealed what Simon Cowell was really like to work with.
The two talented twins, who are both 19, shared the ins and outs of their This is Not a Phase tour which kicks off next week while talking about their ITV talent show experience.
In 2019, the CBBC stars featured in the celebrity version of the singing contest and proved to be fan favourites in the competition.
Talking about their time on the show and their former TV boss Simon Cowell, the lads spilled all, including some rather brutal on-the-spot firings.
Harvey exclusively told the Daily Star: “The main thing is he is definitely nice to who he needs to be nice to.
“He was quite lovely with us and had the occasional joke. But at the same time, you know when he’s in the room. Everyone goes silent as soon as he walks in.
“There was one time he walked in and everyone stopped talking and I was like ‘what’s happening?’ and he was literally just entering. I was like ‘do I need to get on one knee or something?'”
Max then interjected: “It was like Darth Vader entering the room, it’s not even a joke.”
Harvey continued: “He can fire anyone, when he’s on set on X Factor or BGT, if someone winds him up or p****s him off, he will just fire them.
“It happened on X Factor when we were on there, they fired so many people just because he didn’t like the way they were running the show.
“It was a really weird experience but it was just so much fun.”
The lads also shared how helpful X Factor judge and Pussycat Dolls star Nicole Scherzinger was during their show stint.
Harvey said: “Nicole was so lovely, she was like a second mother to us and every time we performed she either really loved it or she would tweet about it, she would tell us honestly and we really appreciated that.
“Not only is it very humbling but we were actually getting top-notch information and tips from someone who is an industry professional.”
