Dan Walker could be replaced by Good Morning Britain star Laura Tobin on BBC Breakfast.
The 45-year-old presenter has announced he’ll be leaving the famous red sofa later this year.
He announced on Monday (April 4) that he’s leaving the channel after six years to join Channel 5 news.
Rumours have already began circulating who could take over from Dan.
Bookies have Morning Live presenter Gethin Jones and Dan’s Strictly Come Dancing co-star AJ Odudu are current favourites to be offered the position.
However, GMB weather presenter Laura could also be set to swap channels.
Ladbrokes have Laura to join BBC Breakfast at 6/1 with The One Show host Jermaine Jenas at 9/2, Ade Adepitan at 11/2 and ITV star Vernon Kat at 11/1.
Laura, 40, worked for the BBC before moving to the ITV Breakfast programme Daybreak in 2012.
The show was later replaced by Good Morning Britain in early 2014 and the metrologist currently presents the weather bulletins for the programme.
Others names in the running to take over from Dan include BBC Breakfast star Jon Kay, adventurer Bear Grylls and Homes Under The Hammer star Martin Roberts.
Announcing his exit from BBC Breakfast earlier this week, Dan said: “Hello, Dan Walker here. I have a little bit of news for you.
“In the next few weeks, I’m going to be leaving BBC Breakfast and moving to 5 News and to Channel 5.
“I’m really excited, but this has also been a massive decision for me because I love BBC Breakfast. But Channel 5 came with big ambitions, with big plans, and I don’t think opportunities like this come around very often and I can’t wait.”
The BBC has not yet made an official announcement about who will be Dan Walker’s replacement, or precisely when he will be leaving the show.
Viewers have been quick to give their thoughts on who they think should take over the role on Twitter.
Responding to Dan’s announcement tweet, one social media user said: “Hope Jon Kay gets your job as he and Sally are great together. Good luck Dan.”
Another tagged Jon on his official Twitter page and said: “The show goes on, @jonkay01 for replacement please!”

“I hope @jonkay01 takes over. He’s such a good journalist.” a third fan penned.
Jon joined the Breakfast presenting team in 2010, and has always stepped in to host the show when the regular presenters are unavailable.
He jokingly said on Twitter on Tuesday (April 5) that his job application for Dan’s role was “completed” and tagged his co-star in the post.
Others have said that they would like to see BBC Breakfast sport presenter Mike Bushell or BBC Breakfast business presenter Nina Warhurst take up the post.
