Corrie's Kelly exit 'sealed' as fans predict she'll leave after double death tragedy

Coronation Street fans have predicted that Kelly Neelan will leave the ITV soap after the tragic passing of her mother Laura.

On Wednesday’s episode it was revealed that Laura would be sent to hospice to live out her final days, with Gary Windass and Maria Connor needing to break the tragic news to Kelly.

Fans believe that grief-stricken Kelly may not be able to cope well and will end up turning her back on Weatherfield for good.

One person predicted on Twitter: “Kelly is going to end up leaving #Corrie either killed off or running away.”

Others hoped that Kelly would visit Laura in hospital before her death, writing: “Oh blimey, I hope Laura gets to see Kelly again before she dies, but I don’t think she will.”

A second added: “Kelly’s not fine. She’s in deep denial. #Corrie #CoronationStreet @itvcorrie.”

While a third echoed: “Kelly’s gonna regret it if she doesn’t see Laura #Corrie.”

Kelly, who is played by Millie Gibson, is set to face heartache as her terminally ill mum dies in an upcoming episode.

Viewers were left stunned recently when Laura confessed to killing her daughter’s father Rick Neelan all while knowing Gary was really to blame for his death.

To ensure her daughter would be looked after by Gary after her passing and knowing she didn’t have long left to live, Kelly admitted to Rick’s murder.

In behind the scenes footage which will air next week, Kelly is shown looking distraught as she attempts to come to terms with the loss of two parents.

Ahead of her father’s funeral, Kelly learns that she is set to inherit a hefty sum of cash including his estate.

However, she is unable to face going into her loan shark father’s property and ask’s Gary to venture in on her behalf.

As soon as Kelly is met with so many childhood reminders the grief takes over and she begins to unscrew the morphine cap of her mother’s bottle that she’d found in her pocket.

As the teen contemplates taking the medicine, Abi Franklin shows up but it is unknown if she’ll be able to save Kelly from herself.

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8pm on ITV.
