GMB fans slam Kate Garraway for 'interrupting' Ed Davey in 'car crash' interview

Good Morning Britain fans have slammed Kate Garraway during her interview with Sir Ed Davey which viewers branded a “car crash” as the broadcaster kept “interrupting” the Liberal Democrat leader.

During Wednesday’s (April 7) instalment of the popular ITV morning news show, the 54-year-old and her co-host Richard Madeley welcomed the politician onto the show to discuss whether Russia should be kicked out of the United Nations.

Throughout the interview, the pair also talked about the rise in national insurance and how that is going to drastically affect low paid workers up and down the country.

However, viewers struggled to focus on the show after becoming annoyed with the ITV host for “interrupting” the MP while he was trying to share his point of view on the topic.

While talking about the sanctions against Russia, the blonde bombshell asked whether Russia should be removed from the UN.

To which he replied: “Absolutely. If I had my way out of other areas actually. They’re in too many things that give them credibility, we have to get tougher.

“But I have to say if we come back to the economic sanctions … political sanctions, getting to Putin and his cronies would be to really hit him in the pocket.”

The broadcaster repeatedly interrupted the debate on the show

But Garraway quickly moved on to discuss the rise in National Insurance and how it will affect the NHS and care workers.

He began: “Make sure our care services and family carers” before the host interrupted: “To get an idea of the creative because I think you know my personal circumstances.

“No one is against better funding … no one is more pro funding for the care system than be but what is your creative solution for that?”

Viewers rushed to Twitter to slam the star online

The MP replied: “At the moment, we don’t work and don’t support family carers in the way that we could. If we did …”

It was at this point that the broadcaster interrupted again, saying: “No, I agree, I understand the problem, I think everyone does.”

Mr Davey explained: “I think my point there if we did support them, people would be able to leave the hospital more quickly and wouldn’t have to keep on going back to the hospital.”

Before the politician could finish his sentence, Kate chipped in saying: “No we get it, Ed, we all get that is the way forward. I have personally experienced that.

“Derek had to stay longer in hospital because of an operation because I was incapable of looking after him because he had plaster.”

And it’s fair to say fans were frustrated at the broken discussion, as many fumed at her for “interrupting” the MP, while others labelled the interview a “car crash”.

One user said: “A ‘car crash’ of an interview …. all the answers …. none costed … and no detail. Typical of the Liberals.”

Another tweeted: “@kategarraway Well done GMB, you babe put Garraway back on to let her interrupt guests, talk over people and not listening unless it’s her own voice. Kate, just listen you might learn the answer you are seeking if you give people a chance to talk.”

A third viewer fumed: “Will Garraway please stop shouting and over-talking the guests. She really needs to be told that she had 2 ears and 1 mouth and to use them in that proportion.”

Good Morning Britain airs on weekdays from 6am on ITV.
