Aussie TV host fumes he 'can't stand to look at Meghan and Harry' amid security row

Aussie TV host Karl Stefanovic said he can’t bare to look at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle amid the couple’s ongoing security row.

The Sussexes have requested private security ahead of their trip to the Netherlands for the Invictus Games, which is taking place this weekend.

The Duke and Duchess are set to travel with a private security team, but it is also understood they will be looked after by officials in the country.

It comes after the couple failed to attend Prince Philip’s memorial service last month due to security concerns.

Karl’s comments about the couple came on The Today Show, which saw him and co-host Allison Langdon speak to Daily Mirror Royal Editor Russell Myers.

Russell said: “He skipped Prince Philip’s memorial. The rest of the Royal Family were there.

There were royals from all over Europe and still Harry and Megan couldn’t be bothered to turn up. It’s ridiculous.”

Allison weighed in to add: “It’s getting harder and harder to defend them.”

Karl then claimed he used to like the pair back in the day, but now he “can’t even look at them”.

He said: “I can’t even look at them. I used to like Harry and even Meghan back in the day. Maybe the first season of Suits. Then it was all downhill from there.”

Sources told Daily Mirror that Harry and Meghan’s private security team have spoken to Dutch authorities in a bid to secure a “high level multi-agency protection programme” during their stay in the country.

It includes links to law enforcement and emergency services.

A source said: “Harry and Meghan have received absolute top assurances that there is no credible threat to their safety. This is the view of the Dutch authorities and other agencies across the continent,”

The alleged insider added: “In any case, as they are attending a high profile event in the Netherlands both the Duke and Duchess have been classed as VVIPs for the duration of their stay and overall responsibility for their safety at all times while in the Netherlands will be with the Dutch authorities.”

Dutch authorities have reportedly told the couple’s security team they can’t have armed security during their trip to Holland, but gave high level assurances their protection is a priority.
