Meghan Markle has come under fire in recent years after stepping down as a senior working royal but Danni Menzies believes she’s inspirational.
The Duchess of Sussex has previously spoken out on issues surrounding politics, sexism and racism, which some people have not taken too well.
However, others have praised the former Suits actress for using her platform to raise awareness of issues she has experienced in the past.
Last year, she and her husband Prince Harry sent shockwaves around the world when they claimed an unknown member of The Royal Family made racial comments about her son, Archie-Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
Now, A Place In The Sun star Danni has thrown her support behind the Duchess.
Speaking to the Daily Express, she said: “I think she’s probably had a bit of a rough ride, she does a lot of very good things.”
While Danni admits she doesn’t always keep up with the headlines due to her busy filming schedule, she also offered support to Meghan who claimed she “didn’t want to live” during her time in Britain.
During a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan said: “I just didn’t want to be alive anymore”.
She also went on to say that she made the admission so that she could give people hope that “life is still worth living”.
Earlier this year, the Scottish-born star revealed she would be stepping down from the hit Channel 4 show after joining in 2016 alongside the likes of Jasmine Harman and Scarlette Douglas.
Taking to social media, she wrote: “The news is out, I am!!! I’ve actually just filmed my last show.”
However, fans will not have to wait long to see the blonde beauty back on screen with new A Place In The Sun episodes and other shows as she added: “I have loads of new shows coming out over the next year so I’ll be bringing you the sunshine and some fab properly searches on @Channel4 for a while.”
Following her decision to step down, she told a fan: “I had a few very emotional days and was a bit wobbly. Change is scary! But nothing a little bit of gratitude didn’t sort out.
“I have loads to look forward to and I feel very lucky right now. I think this year is going to be amazing!”
Freeform, who produces the sun-seeking show confirmed her departure, announcing: “After six years on the show, Danni has decided to move on,” it read.
“The show has been such a huge part of her life and she has been a huge part of the show. We would just like to thank her for all the incredible work she has done. We wish her the best of luck for the future.”
