Rylan Clark branded 'terrible tease' over cryptic Big Brother re-launch tweets

Big Brother – the daddy of reality TV shows – could be back on UK television by next year, and one celebrity super fan can’t wait.

Rylan Clark, who won Celebrity Big Brother in 2013 and then hosted spin-off show Big Brother’s Bit on the Side, has sent fans of the show wild with a cryptic tweet exchange.

After news broke that ITV2 are possibly in talks to revive the reality show in autumn 2023 in a non-celebrity format (with members of the public as housemates), Rylan tweeted an emoji of a face without a mouth, implying that he was ‘speechless.’

Iconic Big Brother narrator Marcus Bentley replied to his friend with: “OMG Rylan – you’re a terrible tease.”

To which Rylan replied: “Love you.”

That set fans off, with one excited user saying: “This exchange is just making me so bloody excited!!”

“Hope to see you hosting if it does happen ! 15,” a second user said

A third fan begged: “Come on tell us the goss you been in talks with itv and said yes about a certain show.”

The CBB winner has been re-sharing cryptic message online

BB super fan Rylan has openly advocated for the return of the show, which originally ran on Channel 4 from 2000 to 2010 and on Channel 5 from 2011 to 2018.

In January this year, E4 screened a recent Australian version of Celebrity Big Brother featuring Caitlyn Jenner and Thomas Markle Jr.

Following the announcement, Rylan tweeted: “Amazing news… NOW BRING OURS BACK.”

There’s no word yet on whether original host Davina McCall would be interested in returning

Rylan, whose own home is actually modelled on the Big Brother house, told The Mirror what the show meant to him earlier this year, saying:

“Big Brother was like a child to me – doing Big Brother’s Bit on the Side every night became like a lifestyle rather than a job,” he said in an interview.

“Big Brother changed my life completely – a proper 360 – and I miss it dearly and I just think if it was to come back now, it could come back the same but so different now.”

When asked if he would be up for hosting a revived Big Brother, Rylan replied: “One million per cent.”
