BBC Breakfast's Dan Walker told to 'steady on' after 'crazy' wardrobe confession

BBC Breakfast presenter Nina Warhurst told her colleague Dan Walker to “steady on” after he made a tongue-in-cheek wardrobe confession on the morning show.

Speaking about how great the Bank Holiday weather was, Dan told his colleague that he did something rather “crazy” by wearing a t-shirt due to the warmer temperatures.

Taken aback, Nina, 41, looked stunned as she later giggled in amusement.

Following the weather segment, presented by Carol Kirkwood, Dan, 45, said to Nina: “It’s been a decent bank holiday.”

Nina replied: “It just makes such a difference to your mood doesn’t it, when you walk out there’s a bit of warmth on your face.”

Dan shared what he wore over the weekend

Giggling, Dan said: “I had a t-shirt on yesterday.”

Surprised by his admission, Nina replied: “Did you? Steady on.”

Dan then said: “Yes, hello!”

The pair then tried to make sure that they put themselves together ahead of the next segment.

Dan recently surprised fans earlier this month when he announced that he would be leaving BBC Breakfast to join Channel 5 news.

However, after breaking the news of his departure, the former sports presenter was forced to address the reason why he decided to leave.

Dan made the stripped down confession on BBC Breakfast

Taking to his Instagram last week, Dan posted a picture along with a lengthy message.

He penned: “It is often the case that the simple truth is much duller than all the made-up ‘moles’ and so-called ‘sources’ claim.

“In a nutshell… a bloke with a really good job, which he loved, got offered a really good job somewhere else which provided an amazing new challenge and the opportunity to make some exciting telly.

“The bloke explained to his current employers that, even though it was a tough decision, he had decided to leave. They are now trying their best to allow him to make a dignified departure.

He finished off the message by saying: “Have a lovely Monday. I’m off to have some toast.”

Seeing the post, fans shared their support and encourage him on his new television venture.

One fan penned: “You have to look after number 1 in life & grasp every fantastic opportunity that comes your way. Life is for living! I think too many times, we always worry about what others might think, rather than doing what we want to.

“I’m so very guilty of that & would rather please others but as we grow older I think we realise time is precious. Good luck with your new venture Dan.”
