'Jim'll Fix It' songwriter furious that notorious paedo Jimmy Savile 'ruined it'

The man who penned the Jim’ll Fix It theme tune is furious that evil Jimmy Savile has ruined his “feel-good” song.

Musician David Mindel was paid £30 to write the now-infamous jingle that accompanied the BBC series, which ran from 1975 until 1994.

He claims the sing-a-long track was voted among the top 10 theme tunes of all time and gave people the feel-good factor.

But after it was discovered that Savile – who died in 2011 – was one of the UK’s most prolific paedophiles, the programme has been erased from TV history.

And Mindel hates the fact that his song is now associated with the sex perv DJ and presenter.

Mindel said: “You’ll find nowhere that Jim’ll Fix It had the highest ratings on TV in the 80s: 20million – three times more than Strictly Come Dancing.

“It was voted in the top 10 children’s programmes of all time and the music in the top 10 themes and found to be the best feel-good factor music of the thousands of hits and themes researched

“Jim’ll Fix It has been simply designated to the scrap heap, totally erased from history because of its presenter.

“That is harsh… but you probably feel it is right and you probably aren’t wrong.”

Mindel told his followers in a Facebook post that he knew about the rumours surrounding Savile’s sick activities but had no proof.

But he added: “I’d heard the rumours… but no facts.

“He wasn’t going to give anything away to those with whom was he working. He was far too wily for that.”

Meanwhile. according to recent reports, it was revealed that the BBC sold archive footage of Jimmy Savile to Netflix producers who were responsible for the 2022 documentary about the child sex offender.

It was understood that the broadcasting giant donated their £80,000 fee for the footage to Children In Need.

The corporation said BBC Studios had not profited from the deal in any way.
