Lorraine Kelly brands Johnny Depp and Amber Heard 'toxic' amid court battle

ITV’s Lorraine Kelly has blasted Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s “toxic” relationship following their ongoing court battle.

The Scottish presenter told her viewers that the trial, which is being live-streamed, is “madness” as she spoke to LA showbiz reporter Ross King.

Lorraine said: “Ross this is madness! It must be costing them a fortune, once again all their dirty laundry is being aired and it goes on today.”

Having a swipe at the Hollywood couple, Ross commented it wasn’t just their dirty laundry being aired but the “whole walk-in closet and a few hampers full”.

He then went on to inform viewers of the ongoing trial in which Johnny Depp is expected to return to court later today (April 19) to face the judge and jury.

The LA showbiz reporter caught viewers up with what has happened so far, including hearing from Johnny’s sister, friends and doctors.

Ross agreed with Lorraine saying the trial was “mad” before adding it’s “very invasive”.

He said: “It’s he said, she said. This could go on for another five weeks or so.”

Cutting him off, Lorraine shouted: “Why?! Why in public. I just don’t understand it doesn’t make any sense does it?”

Ross replied: “Why go through all this? Plus it’s on TV, it’s live streaming – it’s like watching a movie. It’s fascinating but for them involved horrendous.”

Viewers were then informed of Johnny’s security guard of 14 years speaking in court about one incident he had with Amber.

A clip was then played of Sean Bett retelling a time Amber was in a car crying when they were arguing.

In the footage, we heard Sean say: “I told Amber ‘look this can’t continue, you’re either going to kill each other or end up in jail’. With tears and everything she said ‘but I love him and I’m not going to lose him’.”

Lorraine then said Sean was “absolutely right” before saying that Johnny and Amber’s relationship was “toxic”.

She said: “The only thing that’s going to happen is nobody is going to win apart from the lawyers as always. It’s nuts, it is nuts.”

Lorraine continues weekdays on ITV at 9am
