Helen Skelton opened up about juggling her work life with becoming a new mum just days before she announced her husband of eight years Richie Myler had left their family home.
Their split comes just four months after they welcomed their third child Elsie Kate, after having sons, Ernie, six, and Louis, four, together.
Helen confirmed the news on Instagram, writing: “Very sad to say that Richie and I are no longer a couple. He has left the family home.
“We will be doing our best to co parent our small children.”
Only days before, Helen spoke about returning to work while looking after her newborn daughter to Daily Star, revealing she breastfed her children recording voiceovers for her beloved farmyard show, This Week on the Farm.
The former Blue Peter presenter has confessed that her three children have been with her every step of the way, even on several of her work trips.
The starlet confessed that she’s “reluctant” to go back to work after spending so much time with her children during the national lockdown, having enjoyed spending so much time together as a family.
She admitted: “I’ve been able to say no to a lot of things and I’m reluctant to go back but I do the things that fit around the kids.
“I feel quite lucky that I’ve got projects that I can do around the kids that doesn’t eat into my time being a full-time mummy.”
Helen revealed she breastfed all of her children at one point or another while recording a voiceover for the Channel 5 show.
As she explained how the new tot has met all of her colleagues at Cannon Hall on This Week on the Farm, she went on to explain how she juggled work and family at the same time.
Helen revealed: “She’s [Elsie] been to Cannon Hall to see all my Channel 5 family. God, all of my kids I think I’ve breastfed doing voiceovers.
“But also, I use the same company to do voiceovers and the engineer said to me the other day, ‘I never know which kid you turn up with at which point’.
She chuckled: “He hasn’t got kids so I’m like, ‘Here you go!’”
The presenter went on to reveal how her middle son Louis even came along with her as she covered Tom Daley at the World Diving Championships in Budapest back in 2017.
She explained: “My middle son came with me to cover the World Championships in Budapest for the swimming so my middle son – when he was two months old – saw Tom Daley win his second world title.
“Whenever he’s on TV, I always tell him the story, ‘You were there when he won his second world title,’ and he’s like, ‘Oh is that my friend?’”
She went on to brand herself as “massively unprofessional” for bringing her children to set with her as the broadcaster continues to succeed in her impressive TV career.
Helen continued: “Sometimes I think that I’m massively unprofessional in that I take my kids to a lot of things but for me I want to be with them as much as possible as long as you can still do the job.
“I’m very picky about what I do and I think when you’ve got three kids, you realise how quickly that time goes.
“So, for me, having my kids at work with me is just something that’s always happened and is always gonna happen.”
