Coronation Street actor Jude Riordan has penned an adorable message to his famous dad while celebrating his birthday.
Jude has played Sam Blakeman on the cobbles since 2020 – and his character has been through plenty in such a short time, including the loss of his mum Natasha and building a relationship with dad Nick and step-mum Leanne.
But not many fans know that his real life father is also a soap star.
Taking to Instagram to celebrate his dad Paul’s birthday, Jude shared a sweet snap of the pair together in a cosy pub, writing: “Happy Birthday Daddy!”
He added to his fans: “Thanks for Dad’s Happy Birthdays. Off for a curry soon so it’s a good day all round!”

In the snaps, Jude could be seen sitting on a stone wall in the countryside, and another sitting beside his dad who raised a pint glass to the camera with a party hat sticker placed atop his head.
Jude’s father Paul has worked as director on various soaps – including Corrie in 2021 when his son was working there.
He’s also worked on Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Casualty.
Paul isn’t the only one celebrating a birthday, as Jude paid a sweet tribute to his character Sam on Instagram – announcing that he is turning 11 years old.

He added of his real life: “I’ll be 11 next month.”
It seems the showbiz industry runs in the family, as Jude made his TV debut in 2017 in the TV documentary The Secret Life of 4, 5 and 6 Year Olds.
He’s also appeared in the series Katy, along with hit Sky show Brassic alongside Corrie’s Michelle Keegan.
Paul has often shared tributes to his son on social media, supporting him through various award nominations and wins – and branding himself the “proudest dad in the universe” when he scooped a National Television Award aged just 10.

Paul added: “Still processing what just happened! Our boy up there following in the footsteps of the greatest in telly. Enjoy it all @JudeRiordan you deserve everything!”
His mum Kellie explained of her son’s casting to the St Helens Star in 2020: “Jude was over the moon. He loves to act and feels very comfortable on set and in that environment.
“Sam loves all things space so Jude is loving learning about the Nebula Cluster.”
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8pm on ITV.
