Travis Barker went to Kourtney Kardashian's dad's grave for permission to marry

Rock drummer Travis Barker visited the grave of Kourtney Kardashian’s late father to ask his permission to marry her, it has been revealed.

The tattooed Blink-182 star initially popped the question to Kourtney while on the beach in California in October last year following a whirlwind romance, presenting the mum-of-three with a huge diamond ring.

The pair then went on to exchange vows at the One Love Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas earlier this month, with an Elvis Presley impersonator called in to officiate the ceremony.

But, given that it all took place in the early hours of the morning – not long after the drummer had performed at the Grammys – they weren’t able to sort out the necessary licence in time to make the union official.

Nevertheless, before the couple said “I do”, Barker decided to go the extra mile and seek approval from Robert Kardashian Sr, who died of cancer almost 20 years ago.

The late lawyer, who became famous during his career thanks to his involvement in the sensational OJ Simpson murder trial of the ’90s, was aged 59 when he passed away in September 2003.

Barker’s touching gesture – visiting the cemetery where he’s buried – was revealed on this week’s instalment of reality TV show The Kardashians, courtesy of Kris Jenner.

She admitted to having been genuinely moved by her future son-in-law’s actions.

“He asked me for her hand in marriage, and I was like, literally, I want to cry now,” Jenner told daughter Kim Kardashian during the episode.

“It was so sweet and so tender. And then he said he went to your dad’s grave and asked your dad (for permission), and I just lost it.”

“It’s all happy, I just wish your dad was here to see it,” Jenner added.

Kourtney used to date her ex Scott Disick, with whom she shares her three children -Mason, Reign and Penelope.

Barker, on the other hand, has been married twice, firstly to Melissa Kennedy whom he divorced back in 2002.

He was also married to Shanna Moakler in 2004, but filed for divorce after only two years together.

It wasn’t until 2008 that their divorce was finalised.

The couple have reportedly told pals they do not want a lot of fuss when they finally get spliced for real.

A source told People magazine: “They don’t want a big wedding.

“They want an intimate ceremony and party for family and close friends. Kourtney’s family wants to be a part of it.”
