Fans of BBC star Simon Reeve have rushed to support the presenter as he shared a heart scan after receiving worrying news.
Posting to Twitter on Tuesday, the 49-year-old documentarian and adventurer revealed that he had undergone an ultrasound on his heart.
The measure was undertaken at the Royal Devon Hospital to determine if there had been “any vegetation growth” on the organ after Simon was struck by an “exotic illness”.
Alongside an 11-second clip of his scan which Simon shared to the social media site, the presenter thankfully revealed he had been given the “all clear” and shared gratitude for his treatment.

Simon wrote: “My heart(!). Beating and flapping away.
“Final check for any ‘vegetation growth’ (not a good thing) after exotic illness… all clear was a phew moment.
“Thanks again to @RoyalDevonNHS.”
Quick to share their support for Simon after his good news were well-wishers from within his 115,000 Twitter followers.
One follower wrote: “So glad you’re recovering well. Tropical diseases can be terrifying.”
Another commented: “Sounds scary. So glad you’re better. Keep doing your investigative thing. It’s brilliant and what the world needs.”
Meanwhile, a third said: “Very glad to hear that Simon. You’re way too precious to lose.”
A fourth fan commented: “I am so glad you are ok. You and your work is precious. Take care.”
“Take care, Simon, we need you back on the box ASAP!” Another fan concluded.
Speaking last year, Simon revealed that he has ‘never been asked’ to compete in Strictly Come Dancing in spite of his long-term relationship with the BBC.

Offering a potential reason why, he told Daily Star: “I never get asked to do Strictly. I did Bake Off and really enjoyed it.
“I took a special bottle of brandy along, which I claimed was for my ingredients, but I kept giving Mary Berry a drink.
“She was great and taking it like a fish but after plying Mary Berry with drink, and someone stealing my sieve, I was screwed.”
