Piers Morgan urges nation to watch his new TalkTV show as ratings plummet

Piers Morgan has urged the nation to watch his new TalkTV show – as ratings for the programme plummeted after a week.

The bold broadcaster took to Instagram on Wednesday (May 5) and insisted there was “no need to feel so guilty” about tuning into his divisive programme.

The former Good Morning Britain host has just started hosting his explosive new chat show – Piers Morgan: Uncensored – on the TalkTV channel which launched on April 25.

The first episode of the channel’s flagship programme saw Piers clash with former US President Donald Trump in a heated chat which ended in the politician storming off from the interview.

The first episode attracted a whopping 316,800 viewers, but the ratings slipped to an average of 61,700 a week later on Monday (May 2).

However, Uncensored still beat Sky News and GB News during the one-hour slot despite the 80% fall in viewers.

Piers caught up with his millions of Instagram followers on Wednesday – where he told everyone to forget feeling guilty about watching his new show.

He shared a humorous snap which played on Piers’ controversial reputation, a press pic for TalkTV which depicted their anchor as both an angel and a devil with horns.

The cheeky poster branded Piers “The nation’s guilty pleasure”, with a sub-heading that read: “Tune in to Piers, tonight 8pm. You know you want to.”

He said: “Great to see @PiersUncensored got higher ratings than BBC News, Sky News & GB News again in our 8-9pm slot last night.
