BBC’s The Repair Shop host Jay Blade has owned up about his spin off show being axed despite the rave reviews.
Home Fix has been cancelled even though fans loved it.
Jay said that even though he wished he “could do everything” he needed a “break” and did not want to “burn out”.
The 52-year-old also said: “I feel good and I feel sad. I feel sad because I’m not going to be doing it.
“I feel good because that means I can break and I can really recharge my batteries.”
Speaking to the Daily Express, Jay went on: “So you need to put back in, and the really brilliant company we have are always making sure that you can speak to someone and offload and all that kind of stuff.
“So sometimes they just say to us, ‘Make sure you take care of yourself.'”
The dad of one confirmed to the Daily Star previously that he will not be making any more Home Fix shows.
A spokesperson said: “We loved working with Jay and Dom on Home Fix, and after two brilliant series we’re making space in the schedule for new commissions.”
The show saw Jay and co-host Dom give viewers handy DIY tips.
They have become two of the BBC’s biggest stars in recent years thanks to the success of their show The Repair Shop.
Jay said: “There is more stuff coming. Watch this space. We are working on a different show. It will be positive.”
A BBC spokesperson confirmed the plans and said: “We’re continuing to work with Jay and Dom on projects we’re sure viewers will enjoy.”
