Fans of Tipping Point have slammed the mystery prize won the popular ITV game show.
Contestant Kris was the last one standing on today’s episode (May 9), and he managed to bag himself a mystery prize.
Presenter Ben Shepard announced that the prize was “an indoor self growing smart garden” which is something Kris’ partner is “very excited about.”
Kris said: “Oh brilliant, she loves her gardening and she’s been saying she wants to do some.”
Fans didn’t quite agree and took to Twitter to share how they felt about the mystery counter.
One user wrote: “happy to win an indoor garden. wtf?”
While a second penned: “An indoor garden I’m sure she’s thrilled.”
Another tweeted: “Why are people so obsessed with sh*t prizes rather than £10k.”
A fourth person said: “Another poor prize.”
While another user quipped: “He’s got his sh*t mystery prize.”
Earlier in the show, fans took to Twitter again and slammed Kris for getting a detective novel question wrong.
Ben, 47, asked Kris : “The 2020 novel ‘A Song for the Dark Times’ by Ian Rankin is the 32rd to feature which central detective character?”
Taking a guess, Kris answered Sherlock Holmes when the answer was in fact John Rebus.
Immediately after, one viewer wrote: “I must either be old or above average intelligence…Sherlock Holmes is a novel by Ian Rankin…glad the education system is working… #tippingpoint.”
Another penned: “Sherlock Holmes. Jesus Christ man. #tippingpoint.”
While a third quipped: “I don’t read books but Sherlock Holmes? #tippingpoint.”
Contestant Kris made it through to the final round and announced that him and his partner have recently welcomed a baby boy and he hopes to win the money for them.
Kris couldn’t manage to get the jackpot counter over the edge of the tipping point and went home with £3,400.
