Pride of Manchester Awards 2022 – who's hosting, when is it, and where can I watch it?

The MEN’s Pride of Manchester Awards will be taking place tonight (May 10), with the event honouring the region’s unsung heroes and those who have done incredible things.

Hosted by Coronation Street’s Kym Marsh, the ceremony will be presented on Tuesday, May 10 at The Kimpton ClockTower Hotel in Manchester – but it won’t premiere on YouTube until May 17.

With the red carpet set to be brimming with celebrities donning their glitziest ensembles, there will be a whole host of stars in attendance.

The likes of Spice Girls legend Mel B will be there, as well as radio star Fleur East, and TV presenter Vernon Kay.

Loose Women’s Denise Welch will be there too, alongside Cold Feet actor John Thomson, and Corrie stars Lucy Fallon, Katie McGlynn and Anthony Cotton.

Olympian Becky Adlington OBE and Dame Sarah Storey will also be there, as well as Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham.

The celebrities will witness a slew of awe-inspiring people take home coveted gongs for the incredible and brave acts that they have carried out.

Winners include a Manchester medic who has led the UK’s response to humanitarian disasters for more than 30 years.

The awards will take place tonight (May 10) and air online one week later

An activist and campaigner also picks up an award for devoting their life to protecting young people from violent crime.

One nine-year-old who has battled through more than three years of chemotherapy will get recognised for their bravery.

Two more taking home gongs are a woman who has helped thousands of women escape domestic abuse and a firefighter who lost their daughter to suicide.

In previous years winners from the Pride of Manchester go on to be recognised on the national stage at the Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards, in partnership with TSB, which is aired on ITV in the Autumn.

It’s set to be an awe-inspiring and emotional night

Since the first Pride of Britain in 1999, royalty, prime ministers, and hundreds of leading figures from show business, sport, politics, and the arts have all taken part.

Speaking of the event, host Kym Marsh said: “It’s such a thrill to be back in Manchester for a full live awards show for the first time since 2019. The winners are amazing – they really embody all the qualities that make us so proud to be from this incredible city.

“They are so selfless and courageous, and of course the kids will melt your heart. I can’t wait to meet them all.”
