Love Island winner had unseen blowout row with beau hours before winning show

Love Island’s Amber Gill has confessed that things were not plain sailing with Greg O’Shea when the duo won the ITV show.

The couple impressed viewers when Greg won over Amber despite having only been in the villa for mere days when she decided to go with her head and couple up with him over Michael Griffiths.

Amber had a tricky time in her final weeks in the villa after getting ditched in Casa Amor, but when Greg came in, viewers thought things were looking up.

The pair went on to win the show – but now, nearly three years after her win, Amber has confessed that the romance was not plain sailing in the villa.

Speaking with YouTuber Murad Merali, she revealed that she had a huge row with Greg ahead of the show’s finale.

She said: “Me and Greg had the biggest bust-up you could ever imagine like we didn’t want to know each other.

“We were like, ‘Nah, we’re not doing this, it’s done,’ it was a lot.”

Amber added: “We ended up being separated and then we came back together because we did like each other at the time.”

They ultimately decided to power through as there were just two days left of the show – and assumed they would come fourth.

When they were given the top spot they were left absolutely shell-shocked, given that Greg had only entered the villa mere days before the final and Amber had been single for weeks.

However, they were given the £50,000 and opted to split it, but their relationship wasn’t to last.

The pair ended their romance just five weeks after landing the top prize, with Greg reportedly dumping Amber by text due to their “busy schedules”.

Shortly after their split Greg confessed that they were “mad about each other”, but needed to be “realistic” about the situation as Amber lives in the UK, while Greg wanted to remain in Ireland.

Amber has still remained one of the most popular women to come out of Love Island, boasting a whopping 2.6million followers on Instagram.

Since her appearance on the ITV show she has tested many other avenues including, most recently, releasing her own book.
