Love Island fans have loved following Laura Whitmore’s relationship.
Luckily for them, the 37-year-old star has been posting regular updates on what her and Iain Stirling, 34, are up to.
In recent years, the pair have kept their relationship mainly off-grid and their social media followers are desperate to know more.
Thankfully, Irish model Laura has been very open about her relationship in the past and has revealed just how they met and what they have been up to since their first chance meeting.
From sliding into each other’s DMs and even starting a family together, the two have had a whirlwind romance over the years.
How did Laura Whitmore and Iain Stirling meet?
Laura and Iain go back to 2016 when they first met at an ITV party, with a source telling The Sun that they “instantly hit it off”.
In 2020, Laura revealed they were sliding into each other’s DMs for nine months before finally going on a date.
Speaking to JD’s In The Duffle Bag podcast, she said: “When we first met he didn’t even hit on me, he was too nervous to hit on me!
“I think he was intimidated by me. I remember Iain was too scared to ask me out so in the end I had to ask him out.”
In August 2017, they made their relationship public, confirming they were an item at a London restaurant launch.
She said: “Yeah he’s my boyfriend. He’s lovely. I’ve got him as my screensaver. I’ve known him for ages.”
They pair have been regularly updating fans on social media since, with the two first going Instagram official in the same month.

Yes, the pair tied the knot in 2020 and enjoyed a secret wedding together.
Fans didn’t find out until January 2021 though, when Laura shared a snap of their wedding day.
On Instagram, she wrote: “A year ago Iain asked me to marry him and we had the most magical, perfect ceremony. We loved having it to ourselves.
“We had been planning the perfect celebration and I will forever be so thankful that’s what we got. We have never spoken publicly about our engagement or wedding.
“Back at the time we never felt the need to say anything as it’s all such a personal experience. We also were too busy enjoying it!
“We’ve never shared this picture before now but a lot of people have contacted us and congratulated us the last month with good intentions so here’s to good news!”
Do Laura Whitmore and Iain Stirling have kids?
In April 2021, the newlyweds welcomed their first child into the world, writing on Instagram: “Thanks for all the kind messages at this time. We are in love x.”
They have kept their family fairly secret since, with little known about their baby daughter. While they’ve never publicly confirmed her name, fans believe she’s called Stevie Ré – in tribute to Laura’s music icon Stevie Nicks.
How did Laura Whitmore become famous?
Today, Laura is best known for presenting Love Island, but her career goes back much further than that.
She first became known in 2008 when she appeared in the Pick Me TV campaign.
Contestants went head-to-head to become the face of MTV News in MTV Europe.
This was just the start for Laura though, as after she won the competition, she went on to present I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! NOW!, replacing Caroline Flack in the spin-off.
In 2018, she presented ITV’s Survival Of The Fittest, but this didn’t last long as the show was cancelled after just one season over poor ratings.
In 2020, she began presenting Love Island and its spin-off show Love Island: Aftersun.
