Love Island star and influencer Liberty Poole has revealed that she had a cancer scare shortly after leaving the ITV2 show’s famous villa.
Liberty, 22, rose to fame on the 2021 series of the ITV programme, where she was paired up with Jake Cornish – with the couple breaking up days before the finale.
However, she has now revealed that soon after leaving the villa, she had a cancer scare after discovering a mole on her stomach.
She told The Sun On Sunday: “I used to go on sunbeds, but then when I came out of Love Island I had this weird mole pop up on my tummy, so I went to the doctor and got the mole checked out.
“I was worried it could be cancer.
“He doesn’t think it’s cancerous, but says it’s best I get it removed in case it turns into something.”
The star also explained that she has now given up using sunbeds, adding: “Now I don’t think it’s worth the risk and I use fake tan instead, it can be quite dangerous.”
Liberty is now an ambassador for Skinny Tan, and it is reported that she also has an estimated net worth of £1m from her lingerie brand deals with companies including Boux Avenue.
Late last year the star announced a new collaboration with the lingerie company, with Liberty saying on her Instagram page: ‘I’m SO excited to announce that I am launching my very own lingerie collection with @bouxavenue #ad.
“Lingerie is so empowering, it can make you feel incredible and I want all of YOU to feel that too!
“Boux Avenue has always been my number 1 for making me feel gorgeous ALWAYS so it is a dream come true to work with them exclusively on my very own lingerie collection!”
Along with her lingerie collaboration deals, Liberty also delighted fans when she took part in the 2022 series of Dancing On Ice with professional dance partner Joe Johnson.
However, she was eliminated from Dancing On Ice after a tense skate-off against Kye Whyte.
Liberty is just one of many Love Island stars to have reached new levels of fame since leaving the ITV series, including Maura Higgins and Megan Barton Hanson – with the new series set to air in June ready to bring more islanders into the limelight.
