Queen's granddaughter Zara Tindall makes rare public appearance alongside brother Peter

Zara Tindall made a rare public appearance at a classy fundraising event at the Natural History Museum in London last night.

The Queen’s granddaughter was among a host of star names at the Tusk Ball 2022, which raises vital funds to preserve critical habitats, protect endangered species and tackle illegal wildlife trade across Africa.

The royal, 41, who won a silver medal in team equestrian eventing at the London 2012 Olympic Games, was joined at the ball by business mogul Derborah Meaden, Countdown maths whizz Rachel Riley and her partner former Strictly Come Dancing professional Pasha Kovalev, and her brother Peter Phillips, 44.

Zara, who is married to England rugby union World Cup winner Mike Tindall, wore a grey and lilac printed dress with a pair of silver heels while Peter sported a classic tuxedo.

The fundraiser took place in the museum’s Hintze Hall and kicked off with a champagne reception.

Tusk was set up in 1990 as a reaction to the poaching crisis of the 1980s, which almost resulted in the extinction of the black rhino and caused the slaughter of 100,000 elephants each year.

The charity is championed by Prince William who was made its Royal Patron in 2005.

The Duke of Cambridge was part of an online forum hosted by Tusk in 2020 to discuss the organisation’s initial reactions and responses to the Covid-19 pandemic.

He was joined on the forum panel by eight of Tusk’s project partners from across Africa and the charity’s chief executive Charles Mayhew.
