Emmerdale fans moan over 'boring episode' within minutes of ITV soap starting

Emmerdale fans were bitterly disappointed after tuning into the latest edition of the ITV soap.

Soap fanatics excitedly tuned into their telly sets in time for the latest episode of the hit Dales drama on Monday night (May 23), but many were left unimpressed.

In fact, some viewers were so gutted that they flocked to Twitter to slam the episode for being “dull” just minutes after it started airing on screens.

The punter’s complaints related to the soap focusing on “boring” and “wooden” characters, whilst others hit out at the scenes for being full of “cringe”.

One wrote: “Boring Vanessa inside the first minute. This is gonna be a dull one!!”

Vanessa was dumped by Suzy on Monday’s episode

Emmerdale’s resident vet worker Vanessa Woodfield, who is played by Michelle Hardwick, was determined to make her relationship with with Suzy work.

Another said: “Wooden Suzy debuting the show early doors”.

Dales newcomer Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough) vowed to live a cleaner life on Monday’s edition.

She dumped her beau Vanessa at first in the pub, only to realise she wanted to make things work with the blonde at the end of the episode.

A third moaned: “Again why is every conversation between Ethan and Marcus cringey to f***, please stop”.

Ethan Anderson (Emile John) is the lawyer son of Dales vicar Charles Anderson, who spent plenty of time with his boyfriend Marcus (Darcy Grey) after they confessed their love for eachother.

A fourth simply said: “This episode is pathetic!!! #Emmerdale”.

Another replied: “An all too often problem lately”.

A sixth fan slammed the soap’s current drug storyline as they said: “This Leyla drug storyline is ridiculous still.. boring”.

It came after Suzy confided in Leyla (Roxy Shahidi) that she didn’t just know late drug addict Holly Barton (Sophie Powles), but she even gave her money for cocaine the night that she tragically died.

Leyla aired her concerns around Suzy’s drug-link to Holly before Suzy vowed to change her ways and live a healthier life.

Emmerdale newcomer Martelle said she loves her character, who “doesn’t take any nonsense”.

She told Metro: “Susie is like a whirlwind of fun, she’s very confident and runs her own business.”

The actress added: “She’s confident and gregarious and fun to be around. She doesn’t take any nonsense at the same time and she likes to get what she wants. She’s a really fun character to play so I’m looking forward to all the different stuff that’s coming up for her.”
