One of the most famous men in Hollywood has not been shy of sharing his love life with the world.
Three marriages (and divorces) later and dating a handful of actresses, Top Gun’s Tom Cruise is still at the peak of fame – but what has his love life looked like?
When Tom Cruise was only 19, he was up and coming in the acting scene with his role in Endless Love. On moving to LA, Tom started dating actress Melissa Gilbert – in 1982 but the pair only dated for a short period of time with Melissa calling the young Tom a ‘good kisser’.
The rising star then dated Rebecca De Mornay who was his then co-star on the film, Risky Business. The pair is said to have had an ‘intense’ affair in 1993, but their relationship was cut short as their relationship was rumoured to only have lasted two years.

Do you believe in life after love? Tom Cruise crossed paths with icon, Cher, back in 1985 when they started dating. Both of the stars busy lifestyles caused them to split but Cher still insists that Tom was in the ‘top five lovers in her life’.
This was shortly followed by first marriage to Affairs Of State’s Mimi Rogers. The pair met back in 1986 and they tied the knot just one year later. However, their marriage was short-lived as it only lasted three years.

The pair released a rather vague statement when announcing their divorce which read: “While there have been positive aspects to our marriage, there were some issues which could not be resolved even after working on them for a period of time”
Mimi had expressed to Playboy magazine in 1993 that a key reason for the divorce was Cruise’s desire to become a monk. However, Tom has never addressed the claims.
In 1990 Tom met the beautiful Nicole Kidman on the set of Days of Thunder and married that same year. The couple were married for 11 years and in that time adopted two children, Isabella and Connor.
There seemed to be no animosity after the public split, with Tom telling Vanity Fair that, “Things happen in life, and you do everything you can, and in every possible way, and there’s a point at which you just sometimes have to face the brutal reality.”

Nicole also spoke to Vanity Fair in 2002, following their split the previous year, claiming that Tom had swept her off her feet and she was “passionately in love”.
A reason suspected for the split was Tom’s involvement and interest in scientology, however that has never been confirmed.
After the split with Nicole Kidman, it was suspected that Tom had connected with actress Penélope Cruz.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star made their relationship official after appearing on the red carpet together at the Captain Corelli’s Mandolin in 2001. The pair officially had called the romance off in 2004

Tom also dated fellow member of Scientology, Nazanin Boniadi. The Hotel Mumbai actress and activist dated the Hollywood star from November 2004 to January 2005.
It was speculated a few years later in an article by Vanity Fair that Nazanin was chosen by The Church of Scientology especially for Tom, although the Church have denied this.
His most recent marriage was to Dawson’s Creek’s Katie Holmes. The pair known as ‘TomKat’ had a stunning wedding in Italy full of A-listers back in 2006. The ceremony reportedly even involved some traditional Scientology wedding pledges such as the ‘double ring’ ceremony.

Things moved quickly with TomKat as their first child, Suri, was also born in 2006. Only 5 years later, Katie filed for divorce which was finalised in 2012. Both Tom and Katie have rarely spoken about their divorce, keeping to the private nature that they had throughout their relationship.
Since Tom’s divorce in 2012 to actress Katie Holmes, it’s been very hush about who he has been dating.
It was also rumoured that Tom had started a romance with Mission Impossible co-star Hayley Atwell in 2020, this was never confirmed either.
