Former Gogglebox star Tom Malone Jr shared a strange rule that all families have to abide by if they want to stick on the show.
It was during an Instagram Q & A session Tom Malone Jr made the revelation.
In the question and answer session, one fan asked: “Do you stay in touch with anyone from Gogglebox other than your family?”
Responding to the fan, Tom said: “So the weird thing with Gogglebox is, if you’re on the show, you’re not allowed to meet up with anyone else that is on the show, unless it’s like an awards show that you’re invited to or something.
“I still speak to a few people on social media and I still speak to all the crew and stuff…
“And see my mum and dad sometimes…”
Tom’s shock confession comes after he shared the news last year on Instagram that he’d left Gogglebox.
Speaking at the time, he said: “So after six and a half years it’s finally time to put down the remote, and to say goodbye to Gogglebox,” he wrote on Instagram at the time.
“I’ve loved every minute and I’m eternally grateful to @channel4 and @studiolambert for allowing me to be a part of the show.
“But new opportunities are knocking on the door and it’s time to explore them.
“I look forward to enjoying the show as a viewer and not having to worry about having said something stupid.
“PS. Don’t worry my family @themalonesgb and @shaunmalone95 will still be on the show to keep you guys entertained every Friday.
“To the future.”
Many viewers speculated at the time that it was to do with the fact that his girlfriend Bryony Briscoe wasn’t allowed to take part on the programme.
However, Tom insisted that he left the show on “good terms”.
Tom’s Instagram q & a session comes after it was revealed on the latest episode of Gogglebox that his father, Tom Malone Senior, had an injury.
Sitting on his red sofa, Tom’s arm was revealed to be in a blue cast.
Speaking to wife Julie about his ailment, he said: “Got to rest this a bit now Julie. Take it easy. I can’t be doing any housework or heavy lifting, they said that to me. Definitely no housework, rest my arm.”
He continued: “She said: ‘You should take it easy, make sure you get looked after,’ that sort of thing.”
Julie sarcastically quipped: “Didn’t you tell her that you get looked after anyway, regardless of your arm? You get cups of coffee whenever you want, you get your meals brought in on a tray.”
