Channel 4 viewers baffled as Five Dates a Week contestant reveals his occupation

The brand new series of Five Dates a Week left some Channel 4 viewers rather confused on Sunday night (May 29), after a contestant revealed that he was a content creator.

Michael, 24, appeared on the show with hopes of finding someone special and was given the opportunity to date five single women in a secluded English cottage.

However, during the first few minutes when Michael explained that he created content on social media as his main occupation fans were not quite sure.

Taking to Twitter, viewers online shared their views.

One person wrote: “Content creator… Unemployed, lives with his mummy lol!!”

Fans were confused with Michael’s job

While another person shared: “I’m a content creator on social media,” along with a confused meme which read: “I don’t know what that means.”

A third also joked: “Content creator? I’ve been creating content all day – but I’ve just been for a dump and I feel better now…”

Channel 4’s Five Dates a Week is an expansion on the programme Five Guys a Week, which was launched in 2020.

The show is an expansion from the original programme Five Guys a Week

The original concept saw one single girl trial five live-in boyfriends over the course of a week at the same time.

The lady would then narrow down the hopefuls until she hopefully finds the love of her life.

Although Five Guys a Week was limited to one single woman and five single men, Five Dates a Week invites applicants of any gender and sexual orientation to take part in the match-making show.

Although the concept was fairly new it received rather mixed views from spectators.

Fans were fairly unsure about the show

Taking to Twitter, one person wrote: “Aww ruined show. Was bit of fun when it wasn’t trying to be Love Island and took place at the actual houses of the participants. This ain’t working. Shame.”

Another person chimed: “Why did they change the concept from the original programme. Soon as I heard ‘content creator’ I thought about changing channels. When I saw the girls, I changed the channel.”

While a third echoed: “Five Dates A Week on Channel 4…Oh. I was getting this confused with the popular dating show Five Guys A Week. Will give it a few mins but currently looks full of fakes and phoneys.”

But some seemed to enjoy the concept, with one person writing: “Already enjoying all the snidey looks.”
