Love Island's Gemma slaps sex ban on herself as famous dad warns her to 'keep it classy'

Love Island babe Gemma Owen will show sex and footballers the red card this summer after promising her famous dad she’ll “keep it classy” in the villa.

The 19-year-old is the eldest daughter of former Liverpool legend Michael Owen and has admitted naughty nookie is off the agenda because her parents have warned her not to embarrass them on national TV.

And Gemma says her famous father has put her off footballers because he “knows what it’s like in a dressing room”.

She admits he’s in for a shock when he sees what she’s going to get up to this summer as he’s never seen the reality show before.

Gemma said of her parents: “I wouldn’t say that they were 100% happy with it, but they trust me not to do anything to disrespect them or embarrass them.

“My dad said to me, ‘I’m not going to tell you dos and don’ts, you know how to behave.’ My mum’s bit of advice was, ‘Gemma, just remember to keep it classy!’”

And that means she’s slapped a sex ban on herself, ruling out getting saucy under the sheets with any of the hunky fellas.

She added: “My dad’s never watched it before so I don’t think he quite knows what goes on. Yeah, I think he’s in for a shock this summer!

“But I don’t think I would have sex in the villa, what my family think is always going to be in the forefront of my mind because they are the most important thing to me.”

Gemma, who is an international dressage rider, says she’s going to keep her famous family under wraps in the villa so the hunks get to know her properly.

She explained: “I’m not going to go in the villa and be like, ‘My dad’s Michael Owen’, because I’m just not that kind of person.

“He’s not even on my Instagram account, there’s no pictures of me and him together.

“I definitely don’t brag about it, I keep it quite quiet.

“I want people to get to know me for me, not just being the daughter of an ex footballer.”

But she admits that Michael wants her to give any fellow footballers in the villa a swerve this summer.

Gemma said: “My dad said, ‘You know, stay away from footballers’.

“He knows what it’s like in a footballing dressing room and he’s like, ‘stay away from that’.

“I’m sure if I did actually get with a footballer he’d be quite happy because he’d have something in common with them. I don’t think he’d be annoyed.

“I do like a sportsperson, I’m really attracted to that, obviously with my sport as well, I do naturally like someone who works out, looks after themselves and is successful at what they do, and has ambition.”

But it seems any lucky fella she takes home to meet her parents should be more worried about her mum Louise.

She said: “Are guys nervous meeting dad? Not really, they’ve all seemed pretty chilled about it.

“To be fair, my dad was probably at the end of his career when my ex boyfriend was born so I don’t think he had much idea of what’s going on!

“When I bring guys home I’d say my mum’s more critical than my dad.

“It probably doesn’t help that I tell her everything, if we have a little argument I’ll tell her and then she’s like, ‘Oh yeah, I don’t like him’.”

While she might not be sending temperatures soaring with any sizzling sex action, Gemma says she can’t rule out rows in the famous villa because she likes to be brutally honest.

She added: “I’m definitely not going to be the villain of the villa but at the same time I say my honest opinion and I think sometimes people who don’t know me can take that as quite brutal sometimes.

“But I think as you get to know me people will appreciate it more because they know exactly where they stand with me.

“There’s nothing fake about me.”
