ITV shows Tipping Point and The Chase move to new slots in channel schedule shake-up

ITV game shows Tipping Point and The Chase are set to air at a later time this week as part of a listings shake-up due to the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations.

Brits will enjoy an upcoming four-day weekend thanks to the late spring bank holiday on Thursday June 2nd, while a new Jubilee bank holiday will take place on Friday, June 3rd.

As the nation prepared to watch the historic royal celebrations, this means a number of daytime quiz shows will air at unusual times.

On Thursday Tipping Point will air at 4.35pm, because of an earlier film showing which will see Tenable pushed back to a later time.

Tipping Point will return to usual airtime of 4pm from Monday June 6

On Friday Tipping Point: Best Ever Finals will air at 4.30pm.

Tipping Point will still be followed on both days by The Chase, which will air at 5.35pm and 5.30pm respectively.

Bank holidays usually see channels shake up their regular programming with films and programmes that are more family-orientated, meaning some existing programmes will be moved or cancelled.

The long weekend will be host to a selection of celebrations across the UK in recognition of the Queen’s 70th anniversary as the head of the British monarchy.

Tipping Point will return to usual airtime of 4pm from Monday June 6.

Her Majesty is Britain’s longest-reigning monarch and will become the first British monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee.

To mark the historic event, the UK has a huge array of public events planned to celebrate including parades, street parties and an extra Bank Holiday.

Across the UK, millions of people are expected to gather with family, friends and neighbours to mark the special occasion.

Some events already took place earlier in the year, such as a celebration on ITV in May, but most events will be covered on TV from June 2 to June 5.

Events to air nationwide in the coming days are the Trooping of the Colour hosted by Huw Edwards, Kirsty Young and JJ Chalmers, The Platinum Jubilee Beacon lighting and The National Lottery’s Big Jubilee Street Party.

The celebrations will culminate with a Platinum Party at the Palace on Saturday hosted by Kirsty Young and Roman Kemp and The Platinum Jubilee Pageant which will air Sunday, June 5 on BBC at 1pm.
