TV chef Galton Blackiston fumed at James Martin during his ITV cooking show segment on Saturday Kitchen as he attempted to demonstrate to viewers at home how to make the perfect roast potatoes.
During Saturday (June 4) instalment of the beloved morning cooking show, the 49-year-old welcomed viewers as he introduced this week’s guests Matt Goss and David Gower onto the show.
Also in the kitchen ready to impress with their array of culinary skills were fellow food experts Galton Blackiston and Mark Birchall.
But their mouth-watering food wasn’t the only thing heating up in the kitchen after the English chef’s cookery show took a turn when James found himself mocking his guest’s recipe on air.
However, the guest cook was quick to defend his food as he shut James down by telling the TV host to “shut up” as he finished up the meal.
Before Galton had even started cooking in the kitchen, James pointed out: “There’s a lot going on here! What are you going to be making?”
He replied: “I am going to do a roast potato and I’m gonna mess about a bit. I’m going to add some beautiful ox cheek which I’m just going to seal off in a pan.”
It was at this point the TV star cheekily interrupted: “Basically the roast potatoes are just a roast potato with the ox cheek?”
Galton hit back at his snarky comment with: “No, no no! You’ll see in a minute.”
James proceeded to read off the recipe for Galton’s dish as he started to cook up a storm, searing off the ox cheek in a pan before he asked James to prepare the carrots.
As he got to work with the carrots, the 59-year-old chef showed off his potato knowledge, noting: “I do know a little bit about potatoes through having a chip shop at various times of the year.
“The starches and sugars in potatoes vary and we’re now coming to the time where we’re getting the new crop [of] potatoes which is brilliant.”
Eager to tease the chef, the former Strictly Come Dancing star mocked: “So these are the ultimate roast potatoes that you’re doing?”
Galton sharply replied: “I’m not going to be taken by that one while you’re saying that because I know what will happen.
“When you taste it, you’ll say, ‘That’s bang average’,” he added. “Anyway, so you could use Maris Piper you could use King Edwards they’re more well known.”

Galton added: “I am trying to multi-task here as I’ve got my little tray,” before James chipped in with: “You’re doing alright, I thought you were going to be stressing…”
Furious with his interruptions, the chef raged: “Shut up and let me concentrate” as he attempted to continue with the cooking demonstration.
“Are you frying them?” James quizzed as he pointed to the potatoes smothered in oil in the sizzling hot pan.
“Is that not what you do?” Galton asked as the TV chef disagreed, pointing out: “There’s quite a lot of fat in there.”
Despite the ongoing banter between the two professional chefs, when it came to the taste test of the crispy potatoes, it’s fair to say James loved them.
