BBC viewers tuning in for the Platinum Party at the Palace branded Mimi Webb’s song choice as “inappropriate” after she took to the stage to perform one of her hit singles.

On Saturday (June 4), the biggest names in music joined to put on a stellar performance for the third day of the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations.

And one of the famous musicians who performed outside of Buckingham Palace was none other than 21-year-old Mimi.

But it’s fair to say fans up and down the country was left up in arms with the blonde bombshell’s choice of music as she performed her chart-topping song House On Fire.

As she put on a stellar performance, viewers couldn’t help but share their fury on social media as they branded the star “inappropriate”.

One user asked: “Is it wise to sing, ‘I wanna set your house on fire’ outside the gates of Buckingham Palace? #PlatinumPartyatthePalace.”

Another quipped: “Who thought it was a good idea for someone to sing outside the Palace ‘gonna set your house on fire’ #PlatinumPartyatthePalace.”

A third added: “House on Fire a little inappropriate considering the Queen watching from Windsor Castle? #PlatinumPartyatthePalace.”

“Bit inappropriate to sing about setting your house on fire at a party for the Queen? Just sayin. #PlatinumPartyatthePalace,” one user pointed out.

Meanwhile, another joked: “Mimi Webb singing, ‘I want to set your house on fire’ outside Buckingham Palace wasn’t the way I expected the Revolution to start, but here we are #PlatinumPartyatthePalace.”

It comes after eagle-eyed viewers spotted George Ezra missed out a vital lyric from his hit single Green Green Grass.

As he took to the stage, the blond hunk performed two of his hit singles, Green Green Grass and Shotgun which sent the crowds going wild with their support.

It is believed the missing line from the chart-topping song was: “You better throw a party on the day that I die.”

And it’s fair to say the removal of the tasteless line was not missed by his loyal legion of loving fans.
