Naga Munchetty was forced to shut down her longstanding BBC Breakfast co-star Charlie Stayt after the twosome clashed over a photograph.
The disagreement took place on Saturday’s programme June 11), with Naga kicking off the debate and later ending it with a rude shutdown.
Having found a “fantastic picture” within a national newspaper, Naga excitedly shared her discovery with Charlie and everyone else watching from the comfort of their own homes.
She said: “I’ve just got a fantastic picture. I just love it,” before quizzing Charlie: “So the most strongest creature in the world?”
Caught off guard he replied: “The strongest? Ermm an elephant?”
Charlie asked: “Do you mean proportionate to it’s size.”
“Yes, yes, yes,” abruptly chirped back Naga.
“Ohh then it would be an ant or a cockroach then,” responded Charlie.
“It’s an ant,” corrected Naga as she held up a picture of the insect showing off it’s incredible strength.
She went on to explain: “Now this, you won’t really know what this is until you take a really close look.”
Pointing at the picture in the newspaper, Naga added: “So this is a broccoli floret obviously.
“And here are two ants lifting the broccoli to take it away to their net and it was caught on camera by a photographer in Indonesia, and I just thought it was fabulous.”
Unimpressed, Charlie said: “He can’t of just randomly have chanced on that. Can he?
“I mean he must have set up the challenge for the ants.”
Hitting back with a silencing reply, Naga fumed: “Does it matter?”
She added again: “Does it matter, the fact of it is the ants are picking up a beautiful bit of broccoli and it’s a lovely picture.”
Unsure what to say, Charlie chose to bite his tongue before awkwardly moving on to a new segment.
