Phillip Schofield v Danny Dyer

A visibly irate Danny replied: “Yeah you alright – what you want to make one with me?”

After Phillip confirmed he was checking if Danny was “alright”, the soap star replied: “I’m lovely yeah beautiful.”

Phillip later admitted Danny was “scaring the life” out of him.

“Leave it you back off. Sit down I’m in charge here mate,” Phillip shouted as the skit came to an end.

A year after their first awkward moment, Danny looked less than impressed when he was made the butt of Phillip’s joke.

In 2019, the soap star failed to smile when the ITV star ribbed him after making jokes about various other soap stars.

Phillip quickly got round to Danny, who looked stone-faced when his name was mentioned.

After speaking to Corrie icon Jack P Shepherd about his character David Platt’s barber shop Trim Up North, Phil said: “We’ve also been joined by EastEnders’ Danny Dyer, who I’m told is a big fan of the Trim Down South.”

After making the joke, he tried to get a response from the soap star, saying: “Isn’t that right Danny?”

When the actor failed to respond, Phillip laughed awkwardly as Danny turned to the person sitting next to him, ignoring the presenter.

“I answered with, I’m not actually sure, ‘I think they all self-harmed on that show’. I didn’t watch the show, I only went from the clip I saw previous, which involved three girls on a bed.

“I haven’t watched the show recently so don’t actually know, but always love it and wasn’t discrediting. I was literally answering what the storyline was.

“I know that self-harm isn’t a joke, obviously, and love any soap that tackles hard stories. It’s been taken out of context.

Jake Wood’s story involved self-harm too. I wasn’t hating, I was answering a question. Sorry for offence!!”
