Pop Idol’s Michelle McManus unrecognisable as she pours curves into colourful frock

Michelle McManus looked radiant as she rocked a colourful frock for a fundraising event in her home town of Glasgow.

The Pop Idol winner, who first shot to fame in 2003 after winning the second series of the talent show, looked totally different from her ITV days as she poured her curves into a colourful patchwork dress.

The frock, made up of geometric shapes coloured in blue, red, orange, green and yellow, brought out Michelle’s natural beauty despite her all-round glam style.

She matched up the knee-length gown with a pair of skintight black leggings and neon pink point-toe flats featuring a diamanté strap.

Going all out on the look, Michelle swept her fiery red hair into an elegant up-do and opted for a magenta lip and bold eyeliner ahead of her charity concert.

Pictured at the Glasgow Marriott, she captioned her snap: “All set for our fabulous 80s Glitz and Gold Ladies Lunch for @glasgowsgoldengeneration in the beautiful @glasgowmarriott!” accompanied by a variety of musical emojis.

Sharing a close-up selfie, Michelle’s golden hoop earrings were on full display along with the plunging neckline of her dress as she grinned at the lens.

Fans immediately poured into the comments section to congratulate the star on her look, with one writing: “You are a delight!”

“You look stunning, love the dress!” someone else posted, while another fan told her: “Looking gorgeous Michelle!”

Michelle achieved national acclaim in 2004 when her debut album The Meaning of Love hit number three in the UK Albums Chart, and went on to found her own record label, McMannii Records.

She has also appeared as a panelist on Loose Women, along with presenting Scottish TV show The Hour alongside Tam Cowan. With a one-woman show at the Edinburgh Festival and her own BBC Radio Scotland show, there’s little she hasn’t done.

Since then, she has gone on to welcome two children with her husband Jeff Nimmo – sons Nicholas and Harry.

Welcoming her son Nicholas in February this year, Michelle wrote on social media: “Goodbye January! Although I don’t know how any other month this year could top you as you’re the month we welcomed the newest addition to our family.

“Please say hello to Nicholas Peter Nimmo.”

She added: “You are so perfect in every way and we’re just so madly in love with you. Thank you for completing our family and our world. Love Mummy, daddy and Harry.”
