Sharon Osbourne says Ozzy is 'on road to recovery' after 'life-determining' op

Sharon Osbourne has said her husband Ozzy is “doing well” after having an operation that would “determine the rest of his life”.

The TV star said the Black Sabbath frontman was having spinal surgery this week and that she was jetting to Los Angeles to be with him.

And following it, she said on Instagram: “Our family would like to express so much gratitude for the overwhelming amount of love and support leading up to Ozzy ‘s surgery!

“Ozzy is doing well and on the road to recovery! Your love means the world to him.”

Opening up previously on her show on TalkTV, Sharon said: “He has a very major operation on Monday, and I have to be there.

“It’s really going to determine the rest of his life.”

Sharon, 69, didn’t elaborate about Ozzy’s op but the rocker has had his share of health issues in recent years.

Sharon said the op was ‘major’

Two years ago he told fans that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

And in 2019 he had to have an operation after hurting his neck and back in a fall, which aggravated an old injury from a 2003 quad bike accident.

The star, 73, did say back in May that he was waiting for surgery on his neck.

Asked during a chat with Classic Rock whether there had been any lasting damage from the quad bike crash, he said: “Yes, there has.

“I’m just waiting on some more surgery on my neck. I can’t walk properly these days.”

Ozzy said he had physical therapy every morning.

“I am somewhat better, but nowhere near as much as I want to be to go back on the road,” he said.

Sharon also had to take some time out from her show The Talk in April, when Ozzy was diagnosed with Covid.

It came just days after she had started on the programme.

“I can’t believe my luck – I’m missing the show and I’ve only been there three days,” she told fans at the time.

Sharon and Ozzy have been married since 1982 and have three children together – son Jack and daughters Kelly and Aimee.
