Dr. Logan Bennett hasn’t even been in Summer Bay for a year, but British viewers of Home and Away will see his exit in July.
Australian viewers said goodbye to the character on 6th June. Logan made the decision to resign from his job at the Northern Districts Hospital and re-enrol in the army’s medical team.
This followed a traumatic time for the hunky medic, when he was wrongly accused of causing death by dangerous driving.
He also split from his girlfriend Mackenzie Booth after discovering that she’d held illegal poker nights at Salt, which led her into a dangerous situation.
As soap fans prepare to say goodbye to the character, Daily Star Showbiz takes a look at the off screen life of actor Harley Bonner.
Famous mum
Harley was born on 27th April 1991, in Melbourne.
His mother is actress Carla Bonner, who Neighbours fans will know as Erinsborough favourite Steph Scully. Carla played the drama-prone Steph in several stints between 1999 and 2018.
Harley also has a younger brother.
The actor previously spoke out about not wanting to be in his mum’s shadow, saying: “When I first signed with my agent I told him that I want to be my own person.
“I said ‘I don’t want to be known as Carla Bonner’s and Steph Scully’s son — not that I have anything against Neighbours, but I would prefer to avoid it.
Ramsay Street
Despite not wanting to copy his mum, Harley then had a change of heart, joining Neighbours in early 2013 to play swim champion Josh Willis.
The role proved to be life changing for the young actor, and his popular character experienced plenty of soap drama, including an abseiling injury which ended his swimming career, and also being the perpetrator of a ‘coward punch.’
Josh was killed off in 2016 when the boiler room at Lassiter’s Hotel exploded.
Stunning wife
Harley married his partner, mode Natalie Roser, on 18th February 2022 at Krinklewood Estate in New South Wales, Australia.
Natalie, who has 1.4 million Instagram followers, shared a number of photos from the big day.
“Mr & Mrs Bonner est 2022,” she captioned one post, which saw her and Harley walking down the aisle and later posing for a wedding photo.
The couple have ben together since 2017.
Natalie, 32, has been modelling since she was 13. She has lived and worked in Los Angeles and was a Miss Universe Australia finalist.
This comes after his split from his co-star Ariel Kaplan, who played his twin Imogen.
During the romance, which began in 2013, Ariel gushed: “I love him more every day. It’s all really good.
“I am very regimented and organised and Harley is pretty much the most laid-back person in the world.
“I made him a little bit more on time and he relaxed me.I love him more every day. It’s all really good.
However, the pair announced in 2016 that they had split after three years together, with Ariel saying that they had ended their relationship amicably and “still talked everyday”.
Summer Bay
He’s not the first actor to swap Erinsborough for Summer Bay, but Home and Away fans swooned as soon as Harley arrived as Dr. Logan in August 2021.
His casting was seen as a major coup for the seaside soap, and show bosses had plenty of plans for the character’s future.
However, the show’s Australian network, Channel Seven, then issued a mandate that all staff would need to be double vaccinated against Covid from January 10 to continue work.
On 8th January, a statement was issued saying that: “Channel Seven can confirm Harley will not return to Home and Away when filming resumes in the coming weeks.
“Harley leaves with our best wishes and sincere thanks for his work on the show,” the spokesperson said.
Neither Bonner nor Seven has confirmed or denied his departure was related to the vaccine mandate.
Logan’s exit happens off screen, with Mackenzie hearing a voicemail from him.
Popular Home and Away actress Sam Frost, 33, who played Jasmine Delaney, quit the soap in December, two months after revealing she hadn’t had the Covid vaccine.
It has since been reported that she is now double vaccinated.
In February, Harley Bonner went on a lengthy rant to his 98,000 Instagram followers about so-called ‘cancel culture.’
Home and Away continues at 6.30pm weeknights on 5Star
