The Chase fans fume as player makes savage Jenny Ryan swipe before brutal exit

The Chase fans were left fuming when one player claimed Jenny ‘The Vixen’ Ryan was the ‘easiest quizzer to beat’.

The popular ITV game show returned on Monday night (June 20) with a repeat episode from Series 12 in 2018.

It saw contestants Liz, Richard, Ash and Jessica step into the studio to try their luck against Chaser Paul Sinha, who now hosts his own ITV trivia show called Paul Sinha’s TV Showdown.

But Liz angered viewers when she walked up to the podium and seemed to question Jenny’s quizzing skills – by claiming she would be the easiest chaser to beat.

The six chasers, deemed “Britain’s finest quiz brains” by show host Bradley Walsh, include Mark Labbett, Shaun Wallace, Anne Hegerty, Paul Sinha and Jenny.

The New Zealand native had managed to bank £6,000 in her cashbuilder before Bradley asked her who she’d like to face.

Liz replied: “Perhaps Shaun, because he’s a barrister and I used to be a barrister and solicitor, or The Vixen because I think she’d be the easiest to beat.”

However, she wasn’t in luck as it was Paul who walked into the studio to face her.

Fans were not best pleased at the player’s assessment and protested against it on Twitter during the episode.

One wrote: “Jenny the easiest to beat! Complete nonsense.”

Another fan replied to the thread saying: “really? I thought that was Shaun.”

A third asked: “Did Liz just say my beloved Vixen would be the easiest to beat??”

A fourth shared a clip captioned “wow” as they said: “Jenny the easiest to beat apparently.”

Unfortunately for Liz, she was sent packing before the final after being chased down by Paul.

She had been offered £62,000 but decided to take the lower-risk option of £6,000 – even though Jessica urged her to take the higher option.

Her teammates Richard, Ash and Jessica made it all the way to the final with a whopping £20,000 in the bank, but ‘The Sinnerman’ was able to beat them all.

Sadly, it meant the players went home empty-handed.
