Joel Dommett's 'competitive pole dancing' past exposed during The One Show stint

Joel Dommett was put on the spot by The One Show’s Angela Scanlon – who was standing in for usual host Alex Jones..

On Tuesday’s episode, Angela, 38, and Jermaine Jenas, 39, were joined on the sofa by Joel Dommett and his stunning model wife Hannah Cooper.

During the discussion, Joel and Hannah were talking about a recent trip to ballet that didn’t quite go to plan, when Irish presenter Angela was reminded about Joel’s dancing past.

She said: “You got quite competitive Joel, not with ballet dancing but with pole dancing?”

Looking rather bashful, the comedian joked: “Similar kind of dancing.”

A snap shot of Joel popped up on the screen – showing the TV personality using his bicep strength to main a vertical position that appeared to defy gravity.

He added: “Yeah very competitive,” as he noticed a the photo was being shown to everyone at home, which prompted his next comment: “Ohh look at that.”

Angela quipped: “You’re like a young JLO.”

Opening up about the impressive image, Joel explained: “They took that photo at the exact moment I was there. I didn’t hold it for very long.

“It was difficult.”

Poking fun, Angela beamed: “It looks effortless,” as BBC producers then decided to zoom in on the picture of Joel’s teeth clenching face – this to showcase how much he had pushed himself.

“Look at that,” laughed the ITV host as he attempted to replicate his facial expression.

While Jermaine had other ideas, thinking the image in question had been superimposed.

The football pundit added: “I thought your legs were on a ladder and it was photo-shopped.”

“Yeah Hannah was in a whole green suit just holding my legs,” joked along Joel.

Joel and his wife Hannah appeared on the programme to discuss their podcast Never Have I Ever with the pair differing over far they would go in terms of adventurous activities to impress fans.

Hannah told the hosts that “skydiving” would not feature on the agenda as she was “not prepared to die for a podcast”.
