Love Island Luca's 'disturbed' shift in body language after 'needy' label, says expert

A sex and relationship expert has shared why Love Island’s Luca Bish’s body language may have switched since being partnered with newbie Danica Taylor.

It comes after fans were left cringing during Tuesday night’s (June 21) episode as Luca, 23, was labelled “needy” by partner Danica, 21, during a game.

One fan wrote on Twitter: “Luca’s been so harsh to Danica since they’ve been paired. It’s not on.”

Another shared: “Luca’s obsession with Gemma is honestly terrifying. He negs, he’s insecure, his jealousy is scary and he’s always lurking.”

Daily Star spoke to sex and relationships expert Charlotte Johnson at Mega Pleasure, who revealed Luca’s change in body language is because of the “genuine affection” he has for Gemma.

They revealed that his love language is possibly “physical touch” and is why the fishmonger may feel defensive when he was branded as “needy” by Danica and previously called “clingy” by crush Gemma Owen, 19.

They shared: “With the recent re-coupling of Luca and bombshell Danica, we can see a distance from the pair exemplifying Luca feeling disturbed and being unwelcoming to the new Islander.

“Rubbing his legs with the palms of his hands, he demonstrates his uncomfortableness regarding the future. It showcases his genuine fear of losing Gemma and his admiration towards her which is yet to be reciprocated.”

They added: “Focusing on Luca’s body language towards Gemma, he frequently moves his arms in front and behind his back, suggesting he is very nervous.”

Luca has been sleeping on the spare bed in the villa since Danica chose him to couple up with, while Gemma slept in her bed with Davide, who she saved during the recoupling.

The expert added: “It’s clear that his intentions with Gemma are legitimate as he shuts off any other female attention in the Spanish villa and is seen canoodling with her regularly.

“However, his physical affection can be seen as needy and as Gemma said, she is finding it ‘a little too clingy’.

“Although Luca’s body language is frequently changing, we can determine that due to his over affection and open arms towards Gemma so soon, his love language is definitely physical touch.”
