While she’s yet to mention her famous dad in front of the fellow islanders – or at least viewers haven’t seen her do so – she had no concerns speaking about him in the Beach Hut.
In the latest instalment of Beach Hut Bonanza, the islanders were asked to do their best celebrity impression, but Gemma refused to copy her dad entirely.

As she said aloud: “Who can I do?” it’s likely she could have been prompted to impersonate her dad as she said: “There’s no way I’m going to do my dad, but people always do the classic, ‘If they don’t score, they don’t win’.”
She added: “It’s something like that. It’s some bulls**t or whatever.”
Fans were loving the subtle name drop after waiting weeks for Gemma to bring him up, with one person writing: “Omg Gemma finally referenced her celeb dad in unseen bits!”
Another wrote: “Gemma finally mentioning her dad, so proud x”.
A third person said: “We finally got Gemma to talk about her dad!”
An additional fan wrote: “Gemma mugging off her own dad [crying face emoji].”
However, due to her open nature some viewers think she might have actually told the islanders who her dad is already, with one fan chirping: “Gemma has definitely told the other islanders who her dad is.”
Ex islander Afia Tonkmor confessed she was aware who Gemma’s dad was before she went in as she watched her VT.
She said in an Instagram Q&A: “If people do know, I did know before I went in because I watched her VT, but if people do know they don’t care… nobody really cares.
“I don’t know who he is, I know he’s a football guy, it was never, ever spoken about in my presence.”
Fans are still hoping that Michael Owen will make an appearance on the ITV2 show this year, especially if Gemma hangs around long enough for meet the parents…
Love Island continues tonight on ITV2 at 9pm.
